Big Vend

Friday, August 28th: I needed my daily sweet fix. I scrape up the last of my nickels and dimes and head off toward "Big Vend". I eye it - my beloved Butterfinger just waiting to be released from the the mechanical monster that has held it captive. I insert money. Select D8. See the spiral start to crank. Mouth salivating. OH NO!! Big Vend holds on to it!! This can't be happening!! Frantically,I pound on the glass - LET IT GO!!! Too heavy to shake!! No more money in my wallet! Delirious with grief, I head back to office - a broken person, hating the next person who selects D8.
