Homeless Theif

Normally I am a good person. An upstanding citizen. Nice guy. The kind that helps old people change light bulbs. But the other day when a homeless man walked up to me and asked if I had anything to eat, I told him no.
All I had was my Butterfinger.
The man told me he watched me buy it in the store only moments before. He knew I had it right there in my pocket. I did what anyone else would do at that moment. I ran.
The next thing I knew, I was lying face down on the pavement. I had been mugged! My Butterfinger was gone, but I still had my life.
If only it were still worth living.
