cooties

While spending some time with my 4 year old, he informed me that he got cooties from a girl at pre-school. As I took a step back to avoid infection (cooties - eww!), I noticed the Butterfinger that I left on the table in front of me. Alas, my son noticed it first, and as he put out his hand to grab it, I realized that my choice would be to let him have it, or to pull rank (as dad), and take it back, but be exposed to the scourge of cooties. Wanting to avoid infection, I let him keep it. Now I am safe from cooties, but have lost my Butterfinger.
